Film review by Scott Mowry  |  March 8, 2008

When I first noticed a trailer for the new film "Jumper," I was immediately intrigued.

Not so much for the science fiction element to this film or for the dramatic action adventure appeal it may hold, but more so for the kind of secret and esoteric information which it appeared to be revealing. It was just a hunch at the time.

As with a number of Hollywood films these days, that assumption would appear to be accurate thanks to some fascinating new information that has come to light recently. I will get into more about that later.

"Jumper" deals with a group of people who are able to teleport themselves or "jump" from one location to another, anywhere in the world, with just a thought. From the top of the Sphynx in Egypt to surfing in the Maldives to dinner in Prague, all in the same day. And best of all, you don't need a ticket or a invitation or even plane fare. What a life! Where do I sign up?

The main character in the film is played by Hayden Christensen, who was the undiscovered Canadian teenage that George Lucas plucked to play the part of an adolescent Anakin Skywalker (aka Darth Vader) in the most recent “Star Wars” trilogy. Although, he only appeared in the final two episodes of that series.

Christensen's character, David Rice, discovers his teleportation ability as a teenager during a near-death experience and, subsequently, leaves home to experiment with his new found powers. He ends up in New York City and quickly discoveries that the world is virtually his personal playground. He can live the life of a world traveler, a New York yuppie and a high-stakes bank robber, with no repercussions. Or so it seems.

He finances his high-on-the-hog lifestyle by popping into bank vaults and helping himself to a pile of loose loot whenever he is running short on cash. That beats the local ATM every time!

Naturally, as with all these kinds of special powers, he gets a little sloppy and somebody begins to notice. Some good people but also a lot of real bad people. Government people. Black-ops type characters.

He is eventually hunted down by perennial badass character actor, Samuel L. Jackson, who heads a group of black-ops that have targeted these "jumpers" for elimination. Because, as Jackson's character announces to the rogue jumpers, "only God should have that kind of power."

It is interesting in the irony of Jackson's character moral rightousness. His character fails to recognize the fact that if he thinks God would disapprove of these humans possessing these powers, then what makes him think he can then act on God's behalf in meting out judgement and retribution.

But I digress ...

"Jumper" certainly chooses a compelling subject matter, that of human teleportation, to center an entire movie around. In my opinion, I think it actually makes for a very compelling and entertaining film.

Although, most of the movie critics panned this movie viciously, I would highly recommend "Jumper." Mainly, due to the fact that, I would be willing to bet my bottom dollar that there is a lot of true and real information that this film is revealing intentionally.

I say that because I have since discovered a fascinating interview with David Wilcock from the folks at Project Camelot. He talks about information he has received from insider source about so called "jump rooms" which are highly advanced technologies that allow for worm hole teleportation to distant planets.

According to both Wilcock's and Project Camelot's sources, a person is able to enter into an elevator type device and within seconds of the door closing, you find yourself on an underground base on Mars.

Aha! I knew there was something curious about this movie!

“Jumper” is set to be released on DVD June 10, 2008.
