GIVE ME LOVE (GIVE ME PEACE ON EARTH)

The late, great George Harrison, known as "the quiet one," was often overshadowed by the more powerful personalities of John Lennon and Paul McCartney in the Beatles, yet he was easily the most spiritual of the group.

"Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)" was his quintessential ode to world peace. He remained devoted to a spiritual path throughout his life and maintained strong ties to East Indian religious philosophies and ideals.

GEORGE HARRISON – "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)"
(Words and music by George Harrison)

Give me love
Give me love
Give me peace on earth
Give me light
Give me life Keep me free from birth
Give me hope
Help me cope, with this heavy load
Trying to, touch and reach you with,
heart and soul

OM M M M M M M M M M M M M M
M M M My Lord . . .

PLEASE take hold of my hand, that
I might understand you

Won't you please
Oh won't you

Give me love
Give me love
Give me peace on earth
Give me light
Give me life
Keep me free from birth
Give me hope
Help me cope, with this heavy load
Trying to, touch and reach you with,
heart and soul

OM M M M M M M M M M M M M M
M M M My Lord . . .

PLEASE take hold of my hand, that
I might understand you

AWAITING ON YOU ALL

George Harrison's first solo album, "All Things Must Pass," featured a wealth of spiritual songs and announced to the world that he was a brilliant songwriter in his own right.

Throughout his career, George Harrison created much uplifting music, but perhaps one of his finest moments was the formation of the benefit "Concert for Bangladesh." This was the first of the music-for-charity events that paved the way for future endeavors such as, Live Aid and "We Are the World."

"Awaiting on You All" is one of George Harrison's most spiritual and awakened songs from his very early solo period.

GEORGE HARRISON – "Awaiting On You All"
(Words and music by George Harrison)

You don't need no love in
You donut need no bed pan
You donut need a horoscope or a microscope
The see the mess that you're in
If you open up your heart
You will know what I mean
We've been polluted so long
Now herpes a way for you to get clean

By chanting the names of the lord and you'll be free
The lord is awaiting on you all to awaken and see
Chanting the names of the lord and you'll be free
The lord is awaiting on you all to awaken and see

You donut need no passport
And you donut need no visas
You donut need to designate or to emigrate
Before you can see jesus
If you open up your heart
You'll see hoes right there
Always was and will be
Hell relieve you of your cares

By chanting the names of the lord and you'll be free
The lord is awaiting on you all to awaken and see
Chanting the names of the lord and you'll be free
The lord is awaiting on you all to awaken and see

You donut need no church house
And you donut need no temple
You donut need no rosary beads or them books to read
To see that you have fallen
If you open up your heart
You will know what I mean
We've been kept down so long
Someone's thinking that were all green

And while the pope owns 51% of general motors
And the stock exchange is the only thing hoes qualified to quote us
The lord is awaiting on you all to awaken and see
By chanting the names of the lord and you'll be free
